Perth Market Snapshot for the week ending 5 September 2017

Sales activity in Perth decreased over the week by eight per cent, with 512 transactions recorded.

This fall in weekly sales is attributed to an eight per cent decrease in sales for houses and a 27 per cent decrease in vacant land sales, despite unit sales increasing seven per cent over the week.

Listings for sale
The total number of properties listed for sale in Perth fell by three per cent over the week to 12,917.

Listings for houses, units and vacant land all decreased by one, two and nine per cent respectively.

The total number of listings recorded this week is three per cent lower in comparison to four weeks ago and eight per cent lower compared to the same time last year.

Perth rental market
Turning to the rental market, REIWA members reported that the total number of properties for rent in Perth contracted over the week to 10,071.

This is five per cent lower than levels seen four weeks ago and nine per cent lower than the same time last year.
